Newbie Zolotisty slinks into Oliver's Jewelry with a fistful of calle shells that Elias gave her. They're dirty. She thought they were important so she buried them. But today she dug them up.
Newbie Zolotisty dug them up because they were important and because today this fistful of calle shells will maybe buy something that is for something even more important, her key that Elias gave her.
Newbie Zolotisty didn't bury the key. The key is too important to bury, more important than shells. It is her key. She carries the key all the time, because it's hers.
Newbie Zolotisty gives Oliver the shells and says, “Please,” and because she doesn't know to say anything else, she says it again. “Please please please.”
Newbie Zolotisty leaves eventually with a chain. She puts the important key that is hers on the new chain that she got because Elias gave her calle shells. Then she puts it on, under the scarf Elias gave her.
Newbie Zolotisty loves Elias almost as much as she loves the Watcher even though she hasn't known the Watcher as long. She leaves.
