A Preamble to the:
MANIFESTO OF THE IMPROBABLE PARTY
(with apologies to Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels)1)2)
A spectre is haunting the Island- the spectre of Improbability. All the Powers of the old Island have entered into an unholy alliance to exorcise this spectre: Watcher and Admin, Zolotisty and Count Sessine, Joker Radicals and Midget police-spies.
Where is the party in opposition that has not been decried as Improbalistic by its opponents in power? Where is the Opposition that has not hurled back the branding reproach of Improbability, against the more advanced opposition parties, as well as against its reactionary adversaries?
Two things result from this fact.
I. Improbability is already acknowledged by all Island Races to be itself a Power.
II. It is high time that Islanders should openly, in the face of the whole island, publish their views, their aims, their tendencies, and meet this nursery tale of the Spectre of Improbability with a Manifesto of the party itself.
To this end, Islanders of various races have assembled in Ace High,
and sketched the following Manifesto, to be published in the English,
Pirate, Klingon, Hacker, Igpay Atinlay and Manpage languages.
