Werns was separated from Dreko and Durmo by a stab from Ryushi's Purity Blade, which caused him to slowly fade from existence since he lost his /original/ body and was using Dreko's. His faithful girlfriend, Siwa, was worried sick about it and brought him to Fish, who conjured up a new body for him! He's still getting used to it…
Werns' eyes can change colors. It started out as something passive, just flickering between green, blue, and brown.
Soon he realized that his eyes have other powers, which are listed with explanations farther down. All of the powers were found out when used uncontrollably. The red, healing glow was found out when he was launched into a bench that was lit up on fire accidentally by Carrot's flammable “coffee.” This accident took up a lot of Werns' energy and made him go into a comatose state where the purple glow was learned.
When Werns was told he wasn't allowed to heal one of his friends, the silver glow forced him to leave his friend's house rather directly by walking through their door and a few trees, then passing out on his way back to NewHome.
Being distraught by this caused Werns to not want to be talked to, so the yellow glow was then learned.
When his friends were about to get into a series fight, Werns attempted to stop them by uncontrollably summoning up the orange glow. However, his friend Rocket decided to flee and teleported to somewhere far away. Werns was still attached to him with his orange glow and the distance caused his purple glow to come into effect.
When he was fiddling around with his powers, attempting to test them, he trapped his cigarette in a small yellow dome. The dome couldn't be breached and Rocket attempted to phase his hand through a wall and into the ground. It worked, but the dome counteracted and began to swallow Rocket, enlarging to a massive size. The dome quickly sapped Werns of all his energy to the point that the purple glow couldn't heal him. He poofed from existence as the dome vanished. A strange man named Dr. Dreko pushed him back into reality, somehow, and took control of his body with a strange, unnaturally occurring light called 'Venirla'.
When Werns was pushed back in, he was being controlled by Dreko and attacked his friends. He was vaguely 'awake' inside of his body and noticed the attacks after they happened. His rage grew and lashed out with an aura of his own, which was black. The black glow over took the Venirla shade. Regaining control of his body, he ran away from his friends and tried to prevent them from being hurt.
Werns ran into Magnetman during his escape, who tried to help him get back to normal. Werns figured that his powers ran on energy stored within him, and said so, so Magnetman offered him an energy drink. Werns drank it, then fired off a burst of light into the air, an apparent expulsion of the energy. This tired Werns out, however, and allowed Dreko to manifest himself in the world in place of Werns' body. To everyone else, it appeared like Werns vanished and turned into Dreko.
The shade walked towards Magnetman and Joy, who was sitting in a nearby tree, and instructed them to tell Werns two things. To see Carrot (one of Werns' friends) as soon as possible and when they were together, tell Carrot that Dreko says hi. Dreko then vanished and Werns returned. Joy told him what Dreko said and Werns got very upset. He rushed to Carrot, demanding an explanation. None could be found and some strange things were going on in the outpost.
A large pile of sand-beetles had drilled in the middle of NewHome(caused by someone other than Werns, mind you) and were attacking people. Werns was getting furious with everything and threw up a yellow dome in time to hold Werns, Carrot, and Joy - who ran in just in time. This pretty much drained Werns and he passed out, allowing Dreko to take over. He nearly attacked Carrot and Joy once more, but Werns woke up and stopped him. There was a huge battle in his mind, which looked to the casual observer as a mass of black and Venirla colors attempting to cover all of Werns' body. Eventually the colors were so mixed that it grew into a flurry of lights, similar to the Northern Lights, and vanished in a poof! Werns was gone.
When Werns woke up, he found himself back in the strange room where Dreko first pushed him back into reality. The room was a large rectangle with large pillars, everything in the odd color, Venirla. This dimension is where he wrote the three notes (see below). For reference, the first note was written just as Werns arrived at The Plains (this is not explained in note #2, where he describes the event).
The story between here and the next header is explained in the notes. Sorry for the confusing break.
Werns fights the Drive and totally loses his memory of everything that has happened to him so far. (obviously) He woke up on the island in Dreko's clothes and the Watcher told him to go to the Kit-Cat Den's tree house because people know him there. He didn't really understand but he found his way there and is beginning the slow process of memory restoration.
A few scenarios of small memory recognition occurred, but one moment gave him his entire memory back. It happened in the tree house when a tall, shady figure appeared in the entrance to the tree house and seemed to mind control Werns outside. Zora, Adam, and Chazro were there at the time and reluctantly followed them outside, despite their fear. When they were outside, the shadowy figure pulled out two swords and released its control over Werns, who saw the weapons and equipped his own halberd. However, the figure was incredibly quick and he stabbed Werns straight through the chest with both swords. Werns groaned and collapsed to the ground and the figure took a step back, his features becoming revealed as he did so. He looked very similar to Werns, except he was covered in a jet-black cloak with yellow, gleaming eyes. Werns recognized him as Durmo as he struggled to his feet. The shade laughed and snatched up Chazro, then vanished in a puff of black smoke. Werns now has two slender holes in his chest where he was stabbed that emit a Venirla light. He refuses to let them be healed because they're so unnatural for two reasons. First of all, he should be dead. They're right in the area of major organs in his body, most specifically his lungs, and secondly they are emitting the Venirla light, which is odd. Werns has absolutely no control over his powers, yet it seems like he doesn't have them anymore. In truth, he still does but they only react to certain circumstances, different than how they worked before.
Any forceful execution of powers will only occur if that power is the active power for the day (explained lower down)
Blue/Green/Brown – Just the usual color of Werns' eyes. Usually changes every few times he speaks or acts. Flicks faster the more he is confused.
Red – Heals target in a red glow that ignites with a quick leap of fire. Fire does not damage target. Temporary invulnerability, as all attacks and objects will bounce off Werns' body. If he is falling, his fall will slow and he will levitate to fix its orientation to the ground and then place itself down gently. Occurs forcefully when self or target is in danger or needs healing.
Purple – Eyes flicker to purple when the energy required to execute powers is low. Typically occurs after three to five uses of powers without time to recharge. If large enough, one use of the Yellow power can induce this state. If the target is too far away, the use of the Orange power will as well. Werns will be in a comatose state until energy to function is restored. He is extremely weak during this state.
Silver – Light surrounds Werns' body, causing objects to pass through him. Lasts for only a short time, regardless of intention. Usually is only a short flash. Power forces itself to be use when someone who is has refused to be healed when injured. This will last as long as he remains near the injured person, so his body will forcefully remove itself from the situation.
Yellow – A barrier is created around Werns or a target. Nothing can pass into it, only out. Will only vanish when the target (person or object) steps out of it. This power forces itself to be used when Werns is very saddened and does not want to be interacted with.
Orange – Applies a great force on one target towards another target (Either target may be a location) Power forces itself to be used when Werns wants to prevent people from fighting.
Black – Encompasses Werns in a dark void. The effects vary based on environment2). Power forces itself to be used when Werns is in “energy outburst” (when Dreko directly controls Werns' body) and becomes aware that he is not in control of his body. This attempts to cover the Venirla aura and take back control.
Venirla – This color does NOT occur on the natural light spectrum, therefore I can't really explain it to you… Just think of it as a color that nobody has ever seen before. Ever. This color emits from shades when they are physically present(This does not include projections, as this is when they “shimmer” black). Also emits from Werns when in an “energy outburst” When this happens, he wanders slowly when he picks a direction and will throw his arms to the side, causing “eruptions”3) to emit from the center of his body. This “eruption” can be charged up and Werns' arms will glow a very dark red color while doing so.
To counter-act the God-like state Werns had accidentally reached, the shard controlling his powers got dislodged from his throat and was stolen by Durmo. This granted Durmo imense power and the ability to see where Chazro was. Durmo stretched outwards from Carrot and attacked Chazro, taking his shard as well. Werns and Chazro, until recently, could only have 1 power per day. The same applies for the penguin, but since Werns was attacked again by Durmo, he seems to not have any powers. In truth, he does still have them, they just appear very rarely and under specific circumstances.
While Werns was on the Plains, he wrote various notes to his friends to describe what was happening to him…
I turned to face Mr Carrot. I didn't know what I was doing. That's when I heard it. "Aah there you are Carrot. It's good to see you again." I couldn't turn my head. It was torture. The voice. HIS voice. The one who kept me awake and night and haunted my dreams. I could still fell the impact. The place where he pushed me. I first met him in a strange room. The walls were shining a strange color that I'd never seen before. I couldn't even comprehend it. That's when I saw him, standing there in front of me. I could feel his eyes pierce through my soul, even if I couldn't see past his black sunglasses. The daggers he sent pierced into the very marrow of my bone. That's when he pushed me. With a sickening thud, he planted his palm on my chest and threw me back into the world itself. He knocked me back to reality. When I opened my eyes, I saw my arms spreading wide across my body. My vision rocked, an explosion centered on me. I looked up to examine my environment, to my dismay. Standing in front of me were two of my best friends. Rocketthebro first, with Joy behind him. I saw the flames leap up his arms. Not the healing flames, but the ones that burn. The ones that kill. The two of them jumped away from me, terrified of me. I was... a monster... I am a monster. The blackness started, it was all I could do to stop it. To stop the creature I had become. I attempted to control. To contain it. It was weak compared to my strength. My strength of will. I held it back, but was scared. As I contained it, its power grew. This was what it wanted. I felt it grow and kick inside of me, like a baby kicks against its encasing while still in the womb. The creature was growing... and healing. I felt its pain and desire to kill. I felt... its hunger. It had to be stopped and I couldn't stay by my friends. I was glad to see Rocket vanish away, into the wall, but Joy saw something in me. She saw me despite the monster I was. She came towards me. So I ran. I ran into an old friend. A spunky android living in a dumpster around the outer walls of New Haven. I turned to see Joy come towards me, stepping out her skin and then vanishing. I was glad to see that she, too, fled when she saw what I had become. To my astonishment, Magnetman came out of his dumpster and collected up the flaps of skin left behind by Joy. I couldn't take it. My friends were injured because of me. I attempted to seek help from my android friend, who had just recently taught me about the workings of a robot. My healing powers were useless on them, so he was willing to teach me about the wrench and how they worked. I was a careful listener. I could use this information to mend his deteriorating flesh that was wrapped around his metallic exoskeleton. But when I looked at him, I saw another friend in danger. I felt my energy draining. Draining as if the creature was devouring it. I needed more, so Magnet offered me a drink. That was a mistake. The energy launched back out of my body at a rapid pace, depleting everything I had left. The monster won. I opened my eyes to see Joy and Magnet standing next to a tree, staring at me. I couldn't remember what happened. They said that I vanished again, this time being replaced by a rather horrible figure. They described Dr Dreko to me as nearly 7' tall, wrapped in a bleach-white lab coat. But that part that made me understand was the glasses, the rounded, jet-black sunglasses. I remembered his eyes. They reminded me of my own strange eyes. That's when everything made sense. This man, rather this creature, gave me his power, unwillingly or not. My eyes were his power and he took that from me. I was a husk of my former self. A puppet for his bidding. He told me to trust in my eyes. I knew that meant that he was in control. But the part that hurt the most. The part that burnt me to a crisp. He mentioned Mr Carrot. My friend that had been helping me to test my powers. He told me to see him right away. He told me to say the Dr Dreko says 'hello.' I was dumbfounded. I wandered off to bed confused and delirious. When I awoke the next morning I could do nothing but think of Mr Carrot. Had he been manipulating me this whole time? When I finally got him alone, the unthinkable happened. Beetles, swarming out of the dirt, attacked NewHome. But I was furious at Mr Carrot. I didn't care what was happening. I WANTED TO BE LEFT ALONE. I threw up my hands as my eyes shown bright yellow onto my surroundings. Joy flew in as the dome crystallized behind her, the beetles unable to approach me. That's when the shimmer happened. That's when Dr Dreko met back with Mr Carrot. But I could tell something was wrong. Mr Carrot didn't know him, Dr Dreko must have been lying. I felt so ashamed of myself as my head fell back and I lost control. I opened my eyes to see Joy. This seems to be a common motif in my life. She and Rocket had been there to comfort me when no one else would. She was my friend. I would not let that monster hurt her. I WOULD NOT LET THAT MONSTER HURT HER. So I attacked him! I didn't know what I was doing, but I attacked him with all that I had! I enveloped my entire body with my own aura. It stung and was painful, but I didn't care. I was not going to let some demon control my actions, even if I was using his power. This is my life! These were my friend! This is MY story! I launched everything I could throw at Dr Dreko. I felt him stumble and fall at the incredible power that I mustered up. He threw my hands to the side to clear everyone away, leaving a path of destruction in his path. I would not let him do this to my friends or my town! I enveloped him completely, but I did so too late. He had managed to hide his power from my in my own arms. He built up his rage against me and lashed out just as I enclosed them. The explosion shook my vision, but I knew my friends were safe. I knew that, as long as my body was gone, Dr Dreko would be unable to hurt them. He was, after all, me. I can't write anymore, I need to leave. I'm writing this down to let you know that I am safe and unharmed, away from the monster that has manifested itself in my body. I will continue to send notes to you as I have the chance. I see you all walking around me. I try to communicate but I cannot. Mr Carrot even rolled a large crate through me as I was writing this. I reached out to talk to him, but I cannot. Know that I am with you, my friends. I will return one day, I promise that. I will keep in touch through these notes. Until the day I return, remember me always. The silent protector, the invisible healer, Werns.
It happened so fast, I can't begin to explain. I was at NewHome and then I wasn't. Everything was that strange color. I can't really describe it in words, so I'll give it a name. Venirla. The word popped into my head and I like it. It reminds me of venom, like the hideous cobra of a Doctor, Doctor Dreko. Anyways, I was in the room, the whole place was filled with venirla light. I blinked, my eyes changing color to red. I didn't know where the beast was. I searched around the room. It was enormous, pillars rising up to the ceiling towering hundreds of feet above me. The room was a massive rectangle. I started from one end of the room and wandered towards the other, finding nothing. I reached the end of my search. The light of the room began to dim. I turned around to see the horror of my life. Towering towards the ceiling, he stood there looking at me. But this time... this time it was different. He didn't have the lab coat. He didn't have the sunglasses. He was dressed in a venirla colored suit with purple and red 'x's zipping down the shirt. The same went for his pants. And his eyes, oh his eyes. I described before how they pinned me in place against the wall through his sunglasses. But this time... this time there was no protection. His eyes were a mess of colors. Red, yellow, purple, green, blue, brown, white. No black. But at the center was his pupil. A single dot of venirla. The aura from his body stretched out in all direction, encompassing many of the pillars around him. Dr Dreko snarls and slams his fist into a pillar, collapsing it and a portion of the roof in on it. The area outside of the room is black and spotted with stripes of color that fly by like shooting stars. He wields a dark lance, full of fire. A dark lance with the souls of his brethren. A dark lance with the tip of an axe, the curved blade of an axe. He stares at me, the aura around him encompassing one half of the room. That's when I get mad. I see him in his fullness. I see his evilness. I hate him. For everything he's done to me and everything he plans to do. He was the one who hurt my friends, not me! He hurt them, and he must PAY! My eyes began to glow black, my very soul transforming into my power. The darkness launched out from my body before I could even comprehend its size. It latched onto Dreko's arms, throwing him into another pillar. Just as the previous one collapsed, so too did this one, revealing more of the starry sky. I assumed it was just the night sky. I turned my attention to Dreko, who was gone. His aura still manifested the ground where he was, but his body was gone. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my back. Something pierced my skin and went through my body, puncturing every bone that I had. I fell to the ground, the aura seeping back into me. I... Dreko's spear was sticking out of my chest. Just as I looked down at it, he trusted it backwards, out of me. My eyes burned red, but not just my aura. The blood was pouring in all directions from my wound. Up, down, left, right, forwards, and back. It was like there wasn't any gravity. My arm reached towards my chest, the glow comforting my aching wound. I vaulted forwards as the fire spread, careful not to be hit again. I looked up to see Dreko standing there, his eyes still piercing into my skin. His spear was full of my blood. There was a small man next to him, also with red hair. He said something to the man, who looked more and more like a penguin as I looked at him. The penguin man vanished once Dreko was done talking. I sat there, the fire cleansing my body. Once my wound was healed, the black aura began again. But this time, something different happened. The black aura seeped around the venirla-colored aura that Dreko had left from his previous spot. It grew and crashed against the walls, tumbling large sections down around me. I looked outside and there was nothing. Only blackness with white dots. No ground. No nothing. I turned quickly to Dreko, noticing that his spear is letting off a darkness as well. I then realized it wasn't the blade, it was my blood. My aura was on his blade. This was perfect. I launched myself at him, the giant aura crushing the pillars as I sped towards him. Just as he picked up his weapon to defend himself, I struck out with that as well. It latched to his face. He let out a blood curdling scream that nearly knocked me off my feet. But my stance was unwavering. This monster had to die, and he had to die right fucking now! With all of my strength and every bit of power I could muster, I punched him right in the face. Right between his eyes. The horrible eyes that watched me as I slept, waking up to the sound of his voice. The same eyes that laughed at me when I did so. The eyes that stared into my soul. They need to end. My fist, which was a confusion of flesh and darkness, hit him with such a force that he was sent spiraling through the back wall and out into the void. His body kept going until I could not see him anymore. But I could feel him. My aura still clung to his face. And I clenched it. I clenched it as hard as I could. I felt the aura squeeze together at a more rapid pace than I had thought. Within two seconds, the aura had crunched enough to be touching. I was satisfied. I had had enough. I walked towards where his body had flown through the wall and saw something strange. There was a small glimmer of green. I couldn't tell if it was Dreko or not, as the aura on his face had dissolved, being too far away. I saw the green light and knew I had to go there. Nothing was left in this room. My eyes glowed orange, as did the glimmer. Slowly, I raised myself up in the air to be parallel to the glimmer. Then with a flash of light, I arrived at it. To my surprise, it was a large green, grass-y land. I thought to myself: Was this the edge of the world? I looked around and could not see a single recognizable feature to the land. I sighed, and took a seat on a tree stump. Then I fell asleep. That's when I saw you, my friends. I appeared in NewHome, invisible to most everyone but a few I chose. I saw you hold hands and kiss again. I saw friendships being mended. I saw tears flow and... a rather hilarious display of affection at the Rook's Nest. I long to be with you again, my friends. I know that I will be back soon. That's when the penguin showed up again. He said his name was Chazro and that he talked with all of you. He said that Dreko told him to tell you all that I wouldn't make it. But he said that you didn't believe him. He said that you fought back, knowing that I would live. I was so encouraged by this, so I started to write about what has been happening to me. Since I'm not of the world, I'm dropping the notes off when most appropriate. There will be one last note after this reaches you. It will be short. And I will be giving it to you in person. The silent protector, the invisible healer, Werns.
My friends. I know you don't recognize me. I am different. I am...changed. This is what happened after the penguin left with my note. I sat there, laying on the log. If I went back to sleep, it'd only hurt me. I wanted to see your expressions as you opened the letter and read it, but I couldn't. I'd just cry some more. Also something else had my attention. I was staring into the darkness. The white lights were gone. No, wait. They were still there, they just had moved. To one spot. The spot I was looking at. And there, to my dismay and horror, floated Dreko. His face was unharmed, his blade cleaned of my blood. The lights bounced around him in a tremendous gathering as he floated towards me. I stood up. This was it. He wasn't destroyed before, so it wasn't going to change now. Something had to be done to stop this monster. I clenched my fist tightly... I knew what that was.. I wasn't going to like it. Dreko was upon me before I could summon up my aura. He slashed me across the chest and launched me back, farther into the plains. That's when I exploded. Not like last time. This time was different. My aura spread life a wildfire throughout the plains, removing large chunks of the ground and smashing them into Dreko. He was unable to dodge a single one, getting smashed by every bit of ground that was there. I raged for hours, mutilating the man. Eventually his aura died down and he fell to the ground that I left for him to fall on. But I kept smashing him. And smashing him. Eventually his body went limp. But I kept on beating it. I needed to make sure he was dead. If not, then there wasn't anything else I could do. Then my aura began to fade. I looked around. The plains were nearly a disaster. I had moved the most massive chunks of land to smash down on this monster that there was almost no land left. The inhabitants had all vanished, I assumed when Dreko reappeared rather than when I had lifted the land. That's when I noticed the lights. I looked towards Dreko. All of the lights that surrounded him were spazzing out, unaffected by the smashing. Then Dreko looked up at me. The lights danced around his body and lifted him up. "You cannot kill me in my own dimension, boy. I CREATED you, and I will DESTROY you!" He snarled and rushed at me. My aura sprang to life, pulling pieces of the ground in his path. This time, they did nothing. The lights followed behind him, dancing their way along. That was when I knew, there was nothing else I could do. I stopped, the aura came rushing back towards me, forming a perfect circle around my body. Dreko kept rushing at me, nearly half way to me. Good. This was what needed to be done. My aura began to spin as his aura began to return. He lunged at me with his spear, which was deflected entirely by...the lights. He didn't care. He dropped the spear, which screamed out in agony as it dispersed into the figure-less forms of thousands of shades, which then targeted the lights. One by one, each soul flew by and destroyed one of the lights. It was...horrible. The shriek they let out was ghastly. I turned to face Dreko, who was nearly on top of me. I closed my eyes. It was going to happened. With a burst of energy that should not have been inside of my body, my arm shot forward, shrouded completely in the black mist. I punctured right through Dreko's face. His limp body crashed into me and we spiraled off of one of the last remaining rocks. As I spun, my hand grew attached to his face. I knew this would happened. My aura grew around him as I began to absorb not only his energy, but also Dreko himself. The shade that haunted my nightmares was now being absorbed into my body as pure energy. Right before my vision went black, I saw his single remaining eye open at me, filled with hatred and spite. I didn't care. I felt the same towards him. His body evaporated entirely inside of me as my eyes closed, spiraling down into nothingness. Some time passed. I opened my eyes and saw everything. I was hovering in the air far below the plains' remains. I looked at my...changed body. I heard Chazro scream in horror, and I looked up as he returned to the plains. I felt bad. I felt so bad. I wanted to fly up and comfort him, but I couldn't. He would see me and be angry. He'd be upset. I... I was changed. No...no... I had to confront everyone as a whole. This change was too...dramatic. So once he left I hovered up to the remaining rocks. I sat there for a moment and slept, and I saw you all comforting him. I saw you all cry at his tale. It was heart-wrenching to know that I caused this... But...I could do nothing. My aura practically did it for me. I wasn't sure how to combat Dreko. It was my conscience... Anyways, I'm sure I look very drained right now. I sat down after waking up to write this so you wouldn't have to wait for me to regain my strength to tell the tale. I have to travel very far into this realm in order to escape and I will surely need to rest when I get there. The silent protector, the invisible healer, Werns.
//something is scrawled at the end//
Just as I got to the place that would take me back, all of the shades that took out the lights came back to me. Since I am Dreko, technically, they belong to me now. They formed into the spear in my hand before I could enter the light. I thought I'd put this down in case you were worried about that.
