Jobs (sometimes called “Build Jobs” to reduce ambiguity) are how you change a Place. Here's the list of them that appears in the game, as of 2016-08-03:
Create Room: Set up a Job to make an entirely new room. New rooms come with no Slots, but do come with a chat room that you can toggle between dual-chat, single-chat and no-chat-at-all-thank-you-very-much. This costs 60 Wood and 20 Stone. |
Create Door: A Door can link any two rooms. Got a two-room building? It'll look like a one-room building until you put in some way for people to move between rooms! This costs 10 Wood. |
Expand Room: Set up a Job to add one Slot to a Room. Slots can contain furniture such as Beds, which give a Stamina boost when slept in overnight. You can buy Furniture in Improbable Central. |
Decorate a Room: This is how you change a Room's description or title. You don't need any materials to do this job, just a Decorator's Toolbox and Stamina. The number of times you'll have to perform the Decoration action depends upon the length of the description you type. |
External Decoration: This lets you change the external description and name of your building. |
Create Page: Adding a Page to a Room makes it easier to spread out detail. For example, a Room might contain a grandfather clock, with a link to examine the clock - the link would lead to a new Page within the Room. |
Decorate a Page: This is how you change a Page's text or title. You don't need any materials to do this job, just a Decorator's Toolbox and Stamina. The number of times you'll have to perform the Decoration action depends upon the length of the description you type. |
