====== 'Elite speak' ======

A fluent speaker had this to say about this speech pattern:

'This dialect of English itself holds many dialects. It is capable of the expression of varied and profound thoughts, so is a quite excellent dialect to learn! Elite speak's roots trace back to nearly the dawn of [[internet|the internet]], where hackers would use it as a sort of code. Now, unfortunately, it is the language not of the jargonized hackers, but of [[everquest junkie|pathetic nerds]], [[small child|young internet users]], and script kiddies. (We can guarantee that this is definition is complete [[truth]] and not a [[lie]].)'

In practice, most internet users of any experience consider its use in general passe and in fact a sign of relative lack of expertise. This is probably partially because the commonly used variants are not nearly as difficult as those who avidly practice them would like to believe.
