If you have done the [[library_corral|Library]] a special service, there is a chance that you will be given a Deputy Librarian's Badge((a cantab)). The badges do not appear to give any status improvements or confer any special abilities, but those who wear them are said to know their way around the ever-shifting Library rather better than anyone else might. 

However, there is a risk in taking the badge; it means you will be associated with [[Skidge]], who is not always the best associate to have. Of the last four ((Wayne, Joey, Beeker and Duskrunner)) to accept a Deputyship, two have been inserted forcibly into books, with only one returning. [[The_Skidges|Everyone]] is taking bets on when the last two will vanish inexplicably, only to turn up in Chapter Four, Verse Three of some ancient tome or other.
